This work is inspired by David Bowie. The gold maze around the boarder is a reference to the movie Labyrinth that stars David Bowie as the Goblin King Jareth. In the center, my first idea was to have just a silhouette surrounded by a dreamy pink clouded background. However, as I started working on the silhouette more, the thought came to me that a marble bust would make more sense considering the labyrinth border. The maze combined with the marble bust gave the overall Greek myth theme that would give the piece some added edge and interest.
